Action Case Studies

Podcasting

A radio show host was finding that his podcasts were just not getting the number of listeners he believed it should attract. By having Action Transcripts transcribe his shows, and posting the text online, the content of his shows could now be searched by Google and other search engines, which brought him extra online listeners searching for the topics he was discussing, and in turn made the website more valuable to advertisers as well as brought him national attention. He is now hoping to syndicate his show to additional stations and build a national media presence through transcripts of his show.

Closed Captioning

The US government's Americans with Disabilities Act is requiring more and more programs to be closed captioned, but captioning centers charge as much as $600 or more an hour. A documentary producer found a less expensive captioning option by having Action Transcripts transcribe the audio of his productions and then having his in-house production facility insert the captions into his documentary videos. The end result is a savings of more than 50% on his captioning bills and more accurate captioning. (If you have ever read captions on TV shows or movies, you know how inaccurate they can be.)

Editing Scripts

Editing audio or video is a difficult process, but several clients use Action Transcripts to transcribe their raw footage so they can quickly find important dialogue and eliminate non-pertinent information from their productions. Many clients have us include time code so they can give their editors a copy of the transcript with the expunged dialogue and time cues so they can quickly edit the video. In this instance, the cost of transcript is minor compared to the time and money saved if a transcript was not used.

Transcripts of Speeches and Presentations

Many of our executive clients like to keep text records of what they said before various groups as evidence of transparecy. Transcripts serve as proof that they did not disclose any sensitive or insider information in their appearances. Some clients also use the transcripts to provide a backbone for books on business they might be writing, or just to colllect all their speeches in one place.

Our transcripts have many more uses. Feel free to tell us how you use our transcripts.
