BASE RATE - $1.00 per minute

This is for clear, high quality, near-broadcast quality audio with one speaker, such as a speech professionally recorded. The transcript is in a professional style format where stutters and false starts are cleaned up.

Add $0.25 per minute for each of the following:

Typical audio with minimum of background noise or other disruptions. Add $0.25.

Poor quality audio with background noise that makes speakers hard to hear, add an additional $0.25 (total $.50, expect large number of "inaudibles").

Accents per speaker. One accented speaker add $0.25, two accented speakers add $0.50, maximum charge of $0.50.

Multiple people speaking, such as meetings, discussion groups, etc., add $0.25.

Multiple speakers speaking over each other, add an additional $0.25, ($0.50 total).

Modified verbatim style, where stutters and false-starts are transcribed, add $0.25.

Verbatim style, where every utterance is transcribed including uh, er, hmm, add an additional $0.25 ($0.50 total).

Special transcript formatting, add $5.

Simple time-coding (elapsed audio time - every two minutes), add $0.25.

Complex time-coding (time-code from video) add an additional $0.25 ($0.50 total).

Examples:

#1 - Speech with excellent quality audio.
Cost: $1 per audio minute

#2 - Two speakers with some HVAC hum in the background.
Two speakers: add $0.25. Light background noise: add $0.25. Total: $1.50 per minute.

#3 - Two speakers, one with accent, some HVAC hum in background.
Two speakers: add $0.25. One accented speaker: add $0.25. Light background noise: add $0.25. Total: $1.75 per minute.

Technical and Specialized Transcription

BASE RATE - $2.00 per minute

Because of the extra time needed in looking up terms and doing research, as well as to maintain accuracy, transcripts for investment calls, presentations with technical or medical content, and other material using specialized terminology such as business-speak, the base rate starts at $2.00 per minute.

Court and Legal Transcripts

Court and Legal Transcripts require a high level of accuracy and expertise. The recordings are often hard to hear and are in a specialized audio format. Often they require certification.

For non-certified, good quality depositions our base rate starts at $1.50 per minute and follows the above pricing. Clients are advised to provide as much background material as possible so that names, places, companies, etc., are spelled correctly.

Non-certified courtroom transcripts start at a base rate of $2.00 and rises from there depending on audio quality.

Certified courtroom transcripts start at a base rate of $4.00 per page and rises from there depending on audio quality.

Undercover recordings and wiretaps start at a base rate of $3 because of their poor audio quality and difficulty in transcribing.
